Abstract:
This project focuses on developing an automatic irrigation system based on the Internet of
Things (IoT) that monitors soil moisture content and integrates motion detection for efficient
water management. The primary objective is to design a smart system that automates irrigation
based on real-time soil moisture data, reducing water wastage and ensuring optimal plant health.
The method involves using soil moisture sensors, a microcontroller, and an IoT platform to
remotely monitor and control the irrigation process. Motion sensors are incorporated to detect the
presence of animals or humans, preventing unnecessary irrigation and potential damage.
Findings from the system implementation show significant water savings, improved crop health,
and reduced human intervention. The organization of the system involves sensor networks, real-
time data transmission, and automated decision-making, creating a scalable and eco-friendly
solution for agriculture and home gardening.
