Abstract:
This research aimed to determine the contribution of modern cattle farming in raising household income in Gicumbi District, Rwanda, A case of Rukomo dairy cooperative ( IAKIB ) and to achieve this, the study was guided by the following the specific objectives: to examine the level of modern cattle farming in raising household income in Rukomo Sector, to assess the contribution of Rukomo Dairy Cooperative (IAKIB) in raising household income and to identify challenges encountered by Rukomo Dairy Cooperative (IAKIB) in raising household income in Rukomo Sector. This study used 94 respondents made up from 4,008 members of IAKIB cooperative dealing with modern cattle farming in Rukomo Sector, by using the Alain Bouchard formula(1990).
