Abstract:
The aim of this study is to analyze the contribution of saving and credit cooperatives in
improving the socio-economic welfare of its members, a case study: zigama uterimbere SACCO
Gisozi, period: 2020-2023. Te objective of the study is to analyze the effectiveness of services
offered by UMURENGE SACCO Gisozi, to determine the contribution of UMURENGE
SACCO Gisozi for improving the welfare of its members. This study contains different four
chapters and different subchapters which are as follows.Chapter one general Introduction:
general introduction which discusses about key component which are; introductions, background
of the study, objectives, problem statement, scope of the study, organization of the study. The
second chapter discuss the literature review of the study, the literature review provides
information on impact of SACCO to improve welfare of its members. The third chapter is
research methodology point out, research design, populations of the study, sample size, methods
and techniques that will use to obtain data and information from the field. Sample size of this
study is 93 respondents from the members of SACCO GISOZI ZIGAMA UTERIMBERE, this
study also used techniques of data collections an methods of data analysis. The fourth chapter
present presentation analysis of the findings and interpretation that provide the answers to the
research questions of the study or results of tests of the hypotheses. At the end this study end by

the Conclusion and suggestions. With data collected from the field and after analysis Table 4.6
present information on how SACCO GISOZI ZIGAMA UTERIMBERE help members to get
different asset from services delivery, mean of respondents 4.6129 and Std. Deviation of
respondents is .4897, with the data collected from respondents researcher confirmed that
SACCO GISOZI ZIGAMA UTERIMBERE help members to get different asset from services
delivery. Table 4.7 present the data on how services offered by SACCO GISOZI ZIGAMA
UTERIMBERE effectively done, mean of respondents is 4.2258 and Std. Deviation is .42038
researcher confirmed that services offered by SACCO GISOZI ZIGAMA UTERIMBERE
effectively done to its members. Based on the finding the researcher would suggest that SACCO
Zigama Uterimbere Gisozi could establish the followings issues that help to increase socio
welfare of its members: create other branches in Gisozi sector, continue to educate the local
government to help in marketing of its services.
