Abstract:
The aim of this study is to analyze the impact of gender based violence on women and girls in
Liberia’s post war peace and development, a case study: West point, period 2020-2023. The
objective of the study is to assess the causes forms and drivers of GBV experiences by women
and girls in post war Liberia in west point area, to determine the impact of gender based violence
on women and girls in Liberia’s post war peace and development, to point out existing
challenges by gender based violence on women and girls in Liberia’s post war and propose
recommendations. This study is subdivide by four different chapters, chapter one is general
introduction, it contains the background of the study, objective of the study, scope of the study,
and organization of the study, chapter two deal with the literature review, it contains definition of
key concept, theories of relate to the study, and conceptual framework. Chapter three is research
methodology contains the techniques of data collection and method of data analysis. Chapter
four is presentation of findings and interpretation, this study end by general conclusion and
suggestions. Chapter one is general introduction presents the background to the study, statement
of the problem, general and specific objectives, and research questions, significance of the study,
scope of the study and end by organization of the study. chapter two is literature review provide
a description of key concepts, it point out the view of existing issues that have been explored
and studied by different authors about the topic, it is basically related to the views extracted from
books, internet, and the dissertation and tables written on the impact of gender based violence on
women and girls in Liberia’s post war peace and development. Table 4.4 displays the
respondent's perspective on the types of gender-based violence that your organization typically
handles. The survey results indicated that 7% of respondents had experienced rape, 8.8% had
experienced domestic violence, 8.8% had experienced ongoing non-support, 15.8% had
experienced sexual assault, 17.5% had experienced psychological abuse, 12.3% had experienced
child trafficking, and 8.8% had experienced economic violence. With data collected from the
there are different form of GBV in Liberia communities. Based on the finding the researcher
would suggest that the Liberia especially west point could establish the followings issues that
help to decrease the cases Gender based violence, to increase the level of punishment, to train
the local leader and populations for fight against Violence and respect constitutional regarding
violence against women and girls.
