The socio-economic impact of COVID-19 on the transformation companies in Rwanda.Case of Virunga Express (2020-2024)

Abstract

The aim of this study is to analyze the socio-economic impact of covid 19 on the transportation companies, a case study : Virunga express, period 2020-2024. The objective of the study is to analyse the cause of COVID 19 to the socio economic of Virunga express company, to determine the socio-economic impact of Covid 19 to the Virunga express company, to point out existing challenges caused COVID 19 in Virunga express company , This study subdivided by four different chapters, chapter one is general introduction, it contains the background of the study, objective of the study, scope of the study, and organisation of the study, chapter two deal with the literature review, it contains definition of key concept, theories of relate to the study, and conceptual framework. Chapter three research methodology contains the techniques of data

collection and method of data analysis. Chapter four is presentation of findings and interpretation, this study end by general conclusion and suggestions. This chapter of literature review provide a description of key concepts, it point out the view of existing issues that have been explored and studied by different authors about the topic, it is basically related to the views extracted from books, internet, and the dissertation and tables written on the socio-economic impact of covid 19 to the transportation companies especially Virunga Express Ltd. Methodology deals with the methods and principles of research process that are used in the study together with information or data analyzing ad interpreting it. In order to avoid the pitfall inherent in one specific way of collecting data, Research methodology includes the planning, structuring and execution of a research, The chapter four contains data collected in related to the socio economic impact of COVID 19 to the transportation companies especially Virunga express company, in this chapter the researcher analyses the cause and consequences of COVID19 to transportation companies. Table 4.6 present respondents view on how experience any changes in salary or benefits due to the pandemic , and 100.0% of respondent answered that yes that experience any changes in salary or benefits due to the pandemic, with data collected from the field researcher confirme that the employees of Virunga express company experienced any changes in salary or benefits due to the pandemic. Based on the finding the researcher would suggest that the Virunga express company could establish the followings issues that help to increase its socio economic: trained employees, reserved bonus depending on performance of employees, increase capital of the organization.
