dc.description.abstract This dissertation examines the role of Compassion International in enhancing educational access in Gasabo District, Rwanda, from 2019 to 2023. The study is guided by three specific objectives, each of which has been thoroughly addressed through a mixed-methods approach. The first objective focused on understanding the perspectives and experiences of key stakeholders, including students, teachers, school administrators, and local educational officials. In-depth interviews and focus group discussions revealed a shared recognition of Compassion International's positive impact on educational access. Stakeholders expressed appreciation for the organization's tailored programs, which address local needs and enhance learning environments. The second objective explored how Compassion International's support has contributed to equity and inclusivity within the Gasabo District's education system. Data analysis indicated significant strides in reducing educational disparities among vulnerable populations. Programs aimed at providing resources and training for marginalized groups have fostered a more inclusive educational landscape, thereby aligning with Rwanda’s national goals of equitable access to education. The third objective identified the key challenges and successes encountered during the implementation of Compassion International's initiatives. The research highlighted successes such as improved student outcomes and community engagement, alongside challenges including resource limitations and the need for sustained collaboration with local authorities. These findings provide valuable insights into the complexities of educational interventions and the necessity for adaptive strategies in response to evolving local contexts. Overall, this study underscores the critical role of Compassion International in promoting access to education in Gasabo District, offering lessons that can inform future strategies for similar initiatives in Rwanda and beyond. en_US
