dc.description.abstract Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) have played a significant role in poverty reduction in Rwanda, particularly after the 1994 genocide. Their involvement spans multiple sectors such as health, education, agriculture, and infrastructure, contributing to the country’s socioeconomic development. The study work entitled effects of NGOs in the poverty reduction of Rwanda. A case study of CARE International District (2020-2024). The specific objectives to assess the effectiveness of CARE International in Gasabo District; to determine the Challenges faced by CARE International while reducing poverty in Gasabo District. The researcher reviewed the related literature to develop the study's full idea; primary and secondary data were obtained and analyzed, and the researcher used 98 people to get accurate data. The final result of this study found that 86.7% as the majority of respondents that CARE International supported women's economic justice as the fulfillment of women's fundamental human right to economic resources and the power to make decisions that affect their lives, besides 71.4% of respondents emphasized that CARE International advocates on ending violence against women and girls while 40.8% of respondents stated that CARE International trained about adolescent Sexual, reproductive health & right. The research showed that 71.4% of respondents agreed that Covid-19 pandemic while 71.4% of respondents stated that CARE encountered unskilled women /illiteracy about doing in Gasabo District .56.1% agreed that poor location and poor infrastructure and 91.8% of the majority of the respondents agreed that inadequate funds were also another barrier to fund projects ;71.4% of respondents agreed that they encountered with Gender inequality in respective families while GBV was another challenge to the CARE International.This study recommends to To Improve infrastructure especially in remote areas, to select and identify the right beneficiaries in need of help in Gasabo District and to expand CARE International programs and activities according to the beneficiaries available in other areas of Rwanda. en_US
