This study aims to investigates the contribution of Tuzamurane Project on women's
empowerment and household socioeconomic welfare in the Shangi Sector of Nyamasheke
District, Rwanda. More specifically, the study analyzed the products and services provided by
the project, the research further examines its contributions to both social and economic welfare
while identifying challenges faced during implementation. Employing a mixed-methods
approach, data was collected from 95 beneficiaries and project officials through questionnaires,
interviews, and documentation, analyzed using descriptive and thematic techniques. Findings
reveal that the Tuzamurane Project enhances women's empowerment through mentorship,
improved access to health services, sanitation equipment, leadership training, and financial
literacy. Additionally, it positively impacts social welfare by strengthening community cohesion,
improving access to education and healthcare, and promoting gender equality. Economically, the
project increases household incomes, diversifies income sources, and fosters financial resilience.
However, challenges such as funding constraints, logistical difficulties, and resistance to change
impede its effectiveness. Recommendations for World Relief include enhancing resource
accessibility, strengthening capacity-building initiatives, and increasing community engagement
to further amplify the project's impact. |
